M&G Advisory Services is a specialist consultancy practice established by Richard Martin and John Gilbert offering consultancy services to friendly societies and mutual insurance companies. Between them, John and Richard have over 70 years’ experience of working with mutual insurers, and have been involved in most of the major developments in the sector in recent decades.

Our experience includes

• acquisitions and mergers of insurance businesses (including friendly society transfers of engagements and Part VII transfers)
• corporate governance
• regulation of with-profits, long-term and general insurance funds
• incorporation of friendly societies
• amendments to friendly society memoranda and rules and insurance company articles of association
• new product launches

All our services are delivered personally by Richard and/or John; we do not employ junior assistants. We work on a fixed fee basis wherever possible and operate with low overheads to ensure our charges are affordable by small societies as well as by larger mutuals.
